International Conference

Date: 5 November 2015 17:00 to 06 November 2015 17:30
The Oxford Diaspora Programme (ODP) and GERME invite you to a two-day international conference on African Diasporas. During the last 5 years at Oxford University, the ODP has produced groundbreaking research on the role and place of Diaspora in Africa and the rest of the world. This body of work is helpful in understanding not only questions regarding the identities, integration and aspiration of Diaspora communities, but also challenges surrounding current migration flows.
Seven ODP members coming from Oxford to Brussels will be presenting their results in an exchange with Belgian migration scholars (Friday 6 November, 9H – 16H30).
This conference day will be preceded by an evening introducing the topic with keynote speeches from two top Diaspora scholars (Thursday 5 November, 17H – 19H).
